Rae Dawn Chong, born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in 1961, is an actress of mixed African-American, Native American, Asian, and Scottish-Irish ancestry. She began her acting career with 'Stony Island' (1978), but it was her role in 'Quest for Fire' (1981) that earned her critical acclaim, winning the Genie Award for Best Actress. Throughout the 1980s, she appeared in various films such as 'Beat Street', 'The Color Purple', 'Commando', and 'Soul Man'. She continues to act in movies and television shows.

Story

Based on Jean M. Auel's novel of the same name, 'La guerre du feu' (1981) directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud follows the story of a young caveman named Ayla, who gets separated from her clan during a volcanic eruption. She subsequently encounters another tribe called the Mammoth Hunters and joins them to survive in this harsh prehistoric world filled with danger.
