Histoire
La marge (1976), directed by Walerian Borowczyk, is a film adaptation of Jean de La Brétèche's novel 'Le Jardin des délices'. The story revolves around three sisters - Anne, Cécile, and Suzanne - living in the French countryside. Anne, the oldest, is married to Pierre, who is emotionally distant. When a handsome stranger, Henri, arrives at their estate, he captivates all three sisters. Anne begins an affair with Henri, while Cécile, the youngest and most innocent, develops a crush on him. Meanwhile, Suzanne, the middle sister, starts an incestuous relationship with Pierre. The film explores the sisters' relationships with each other and their lovers amidst a backdrop of rural decadence.
