In France, Diane Siprien adopts an Asian baby named Liu-San. Years later, a strange mark appears on Liu's chest and both Diane and Liu start having dreadful nightmares. Diane is assigned for a job in Germany and leaves Liu with her friend Sybille Weber. On her way to the airport, she finds Liu hidden in the backseat of her car. An eagle suddenly flies towards her windshield, causing an accident which puts Liu into a coma. Diane discovers that Liu has recorded himself speaking in an unknown dialect on his digital recorder. She translates it and learns that Liu is from the Mongolian Tseven tribe, an ancient civilization whose Observers are believed to possess extraordinary abilities.
