Amy Davis Irving (born September 10, 1953) is an American actress and singer. Born to actors Jules Irving and Priscilla Pointer in Palo Alto, California, she spent her early life in San Francisco before relocating to New York City during her teenage years. Irving made her Broadway debut at age 13 in The Country Wife (1965–1966). She studied theater at the American Conservatory Theater and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before making her film debut in 'Carrie' (1976) and starring in 'The Fury' (1978). Irving's notable roles include 'Yentl' (1983), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award, and 'Crossing Delancey' (1988), earning her a Golden Globe nomination. She has appeared in various Broadway productions, including 'Amadeus', 'Broken Glass', and 'The Coast of Utopia'. Her film credits include 'Deconstructing Harry' (1997), 'The Rage: Carrie 2' (1999), 'Traffic' (2000), 'Thirteen Conversations About One Thing' (2001), and 'Adam' (2009). Recently, she reunited with director Steven Soderbergh in the film 'Unsane' (2018).
