Story

During World War I, Lili Smith (Dame Julie Andrews), a British music hall singer inspiring troops with her patriotic songs, secretly works as an undercover German spy using her charm to gather information from high-ranking officers she seduces. Her real last name is Schmidt, and she is half German. Her Swiss uncle, Colonel Kurt Von Ruger (Jeremy Kemp), is actually her German handler and lover. Kurt's superior, General Kessler (Carl Duering), tasks Lili with discovering Allied air defense plans, targeting American pilot Major William Larrabee (Rock Hudson) due to his access to such information. Lili successfully romances Bill, but her mission becomes complicated when French agents suspect him of leaking intel to a German spy. Meanwhile, she learns about 'Crepe Suzette', a secret mission that changes her status as a spy and threatens both hers and Bill's lives.
