Heidi Klum, born in Bergisch Gladbach, West Germany, began her modeling career after winning 'Model 92', a national contest in Germany. She was discovered by Thomas Zeumer of Metropolitan Models New York and appeared on German television shows before becoming an international sensation. Klum became the first German model to be featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (1998) and was also the first German Victoria's Secret Angel. Following her successful modeling career, she transitioned into television as a host and judge for shows like Germany's Next Topmodel and Project Runway, earning an Emmy nomination in 2008 and a win in 2013.
