Emmanuelle Seigner, born on June 22, 1966, is a French actress and singer known for her roles in 'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly' (2007), 'The Ninth Gate' (1999), and 'Frantic' (1988). She has been nominated for multiple César Awards. Daughter of photographer Jean-Louis Seigner and journalist Aline Ponelle, she is the older sister of actress Mathilde Seigner and singer Marie-Amélie Seigner. Seigner was educated at a Catholic convent school and began modeling at age 14. Married to Polish film director Roman Polanski since 1989, they have two children.

Story
On a cruise ship headed towards Istanbul, British couple Fiona and Nigel meet a wheelchair-bound American named Oscar and his much younger wife, Mimi. Intrigued by her beauty, Nigel becomes infatuated with Mimi, while also drawn to Oscar's enigmatic charm. Over several nights, Oscar regales Nigel with the tale of how he met Mimi on a bus in Paris years ago and became obsessed with her. Their relationship turned into a sadomasochistic affair, with Oscar enslaved by Mimi's love and dominance. As Oscar continues his storytelling, Fiona grows uncomfortable with their newfound companionship and its effect on Nigel.
