Imogen Stubbs, born February 20, 1961, in Rothbury, Northumberland, began her acting career at Oxford University playing Irina in Three Sisters. She graduated from RADA with Jane Horrocks and Iain Glen, appearing professionally as Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Her notable stage works include Desdemona in Othello with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Saint Joan at the Strand Theatre. On screen, she portrayed Ursula Brangwen in The Rainbow (1988) and Lucy Steele in Sense and Sensibility (1995). She wrote and directed her first play, We Happy Few, in 2004, and became a contributing editor for Reader's Digest in 2008.Stubbs' career started in the UK, with significant roles on stage and screen.
