Full Biography

Carroll Baker, born May 28, 1931, began her acting career after studying under Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio. She made her Broadway debut in 1954 and was subsequently cast by Elia Kazan as the lead in 'Baby Doll' (1956). In the mid-1960s, she became a sex symbol with roles like the hedonistic widow in 'The Carpetbaggers' (1964), and later starred in several giallo and horror films in Europe after relocating there due to legal disputes. Baker appeared in supporting roles in acclaimed dramas such as 'Star 80' (1983) and 'Native Son' (1986). She retired from acting in 2003.
