After graduating, she formed the theatrical troupe Le Splendid with Josiane Balasko in 1974. Chazel gained popularity for her role as Gigi in 'Les Bronzés' (1978) directed by Patrice Leconte. She is best known for playing Ginette in 'Les Visiteurs' (1993). From 1976 to 2001, she was married to actor Christian Clavier, with whom she has a daughter named Margot.
