Full Biography

Marina Sylvie Foïs, born January 21, 1970 in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), France, is a French actress of Russian, Jewish Egyptian, German, and Italian ancestry. Discovered at age 16 for her comedy work in 'The School for Wives,' she joined the Royal Imperial Green Rabbit Company led by Isabelle Nanty. In 1996, the troupe caught Dominique Farrugia's attention, leading to the show 'La Grosse Émission.' Foïs co-wrote sketches with Pierre-François Martin-Laval and played characters like Sophie Pétoncule and Marie-Mûre. After parting ways in 2001, she became prolific, releasing two to five films annually. Foïs has two sisters (Giulia, a journalist, and Elena, a doctor) and a brother who died in an airplane crash. She had relationships with Maurice Barthélémy and Maxime Lefrançois before marrying director Éric Lartigau in 2004; they have two sons, Lazare and Georges.

Story
