Sarah Catharine Paulson, born December 17, 1974, is an American actress who began her acting career on Broadway and in New York City stage productions before transitioning to television and film. She gained recognition for her roles in various TV series such as 'American Gothic' (1995–1996), 'Jack & Jill' (1999–2001), and 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' (2006-2007). Paulson has also appeared in numerous films, including 'What Women Want', 'The Notorious Bettie Page', 'Martha Marcy May Marlene', '12 Years a Slave', 'Carol', and 'The Post'. She is known for her versatility, receiving critical acclaim and multiple award nominations for her performances. Notably, she has played different characters in each season of the FX anthology series 'American Horror Story' since 2011, earning five Emmy nominations. Additionally, Paulson portrayed Marcia Clark in 'The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story', winning an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her performance.
