Françoise Prévost (13 January 1930 – 30 November 1997) was a French actress, journalist, and author born and raised in Paris. Daughter of writer Marcelle Auclair, she appeared in over 70 films between 1949 and 1985. Prévost made her debut at age 18 in 'Jean de la Lune'. She gained prominence with the French New Wave, acting in notable roles for Pierre Kast, Jean-Gabriel Albicocco, and Jacques Rivette. In the 1960s, she was active in Italian cinema, starring in various genres. Prévost published an acclaimed autobiographical book, 'Ma vie en plus', about her struggle with an incurable disease in 1975.

Story

Erminia, a young girl, marries Antonio, a wealthy but brutish local butcher, at her countess stepmother's behest. On their wedding night, Erminia proves to be frigid, leading to a fight between them. She leaves town to stay with her older sister Angela and becomes involved with Angela's swinger friends. Meanwhile, Antonio seeks comfort with prostitutes and starts an affair with a wealthy widow right under his mother-in-law's roof, who finds this sexually appealing.
