Bridgerton follows the high society of Regency-era London through the eyes of the eight Bridgerton siblings. The first season focuses on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter, who makes her debut in society's marriage market. In a scandal that shakes up the ton, Daphne and Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), the Duke of Hastings, enter into a fake courtship to deflect attention from their respective unsuitable suitors. As they navigate high society together, Daphne and Simon develop genuine feelings for each other, but their past traumas threaten to keep them apart.
Based on Julia Quinn's best-selling novel series of the same name, Bridgerton is a romantic period drama that offers a fresh take on Regency-era London by featuring people of color among its cast. The series is narrated by Lady Whistledown (Julie Andrews), a mysterious gossip columnist who keeps society abuzz with her scandalous insights. With its lavish costumes, opulent sets, and compelling performances, Bridgerton has become a cultural phenomenon, blending romance, drama, and intrigue in a way that appeals to both historical drama enthusiasts and modern audiences.
