Candela Peña, born María del Pilar Peña Sánchez on July 14, 1973 in Gavà, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, is a Spanish actress. She was the only child of a couple who ran a bar in Barcelona. At age four, she started dance lessons and later moved to Seville for theater classes before settling in Madrid. Peña published the novel 'Pérez Príncipe, María Dolores' in 2001, encouraged by Pedro Almodóvar. She won the Premio Goya in 2003 for her role in 'Te doy mis ojos', after being nominated several times previously.
