Story
Laila, a teenager with cerebral palsy studying at Delhi University, becomes heartbroken after being rejected by the lead singer of her indie band. She then receives a scholarship to study creative writing at New York University and moves there with her orthodox Maharashtrian mother Shubhangini. Laila meets Jared, an attractive young man assigned to help her in class, and Khanum, a blind activist with whom she falls in love.
