Story

In New South Wales, Australia, two seemingly unrelated stories unfold: firstly, the discovery of a young woman's burned and murdered body on the beach leads to an investigation by both the police and a retired inspector who suspects the wrong man has been identified as the culprit. Secondly, Linda, a waitress and ferry attendant, navigates her complex romantic life with multiple lovers before marrying one but continuing relationships with others.

The retired inspector persists in his inquiries despite initial resistance from the police. Meanwhile, Linda's marriage faces complications due to her extramarital affairs. The stories appear disconnected until possibly intertwining towards the film's conclusion.

Summary

'La ragazza dal pigiama giallo' (1977), also known as 'The Girl in the Yellow Pajamas,' is an Australian mystery film directed by Flavio Mogherini. The film explores themes of infidelity, investigation, and possible connections between two seemingly separate narratives. Set in New South Wales, it centers around the investigation into a young woman's murder and Linda, a waitress involved in complicated relationships.

Despite being marketed as a thriller, 'La ragazza dal pigiama giallo' was criticized for its slow pace and lack of suspense. However, some praised Mogherini's atmospheric direction and the performances of the cast members.
