Full Biography

Elke Sommer, born Elke von Schletz, is a German actress who began her career in Italy after being spotted by director Vittorio De Sica in 1958. She changed her surname to Sommer for easier pronunciation and quickly became a noted sex symbol, moving to Hollywood in the early 1960s. She appeared in numerous films including 'A Shot in the Dark', 'The Art of Love', and 'The Oscar'. In the 1970s, she starred in horror films like 'Zeppelin' and 'Ten Little Indians'. Notably, she starred in two Mario Bava-directed Italian horror films, 'Baron Blood' and 'Lisa and the Devil', which were later re-edited into 'House of Exorcism'. Sommer also appeared in British comedy 'Carry On Behind' and performed as a singer, releasing several albums.

Story

Lisa Reiner, an American tourist visiting Spain, faints and is subsequently hospitalized. Upon display of disturbing signs of demonic possession, Father Michael is summoned to perform an exorcism. However, he initially attempts to understand how Lisa became possessed by first investigating her claims about a mansion owned by a Spanish aristocratic family where she encountered the devil. Despite being fully possessed, Lisa recounts her horrifying experiences in the house before Father Michael proceeds with the exorcism.
