Susan Siu, born in Hong Kong and raised in Taiwan, studied nursing for five years post-graduation before working as a nurse on a ship, traveling through 23 countries. She settled in Hong Kong, changed her name to Xiaoyin, and began singing in nightclubs before embarking on an acting career in the Hong Kong film industry from 1970 onwards. She has won four Hong Kong Film Awards for Best Actress (2008, 2011, 2013, 2018).
