Cassandra Ventura, known professionally as Cassie (born August 26, 1986), is an American singer, model, and dancer of half Filipino and half African-American descent. She rose to prominence after being signed by music producer Ryan Leslie to his company NextSelection Lifestyle Group. Her debut single 'Me & U', released in 2006, became a significant hit with the help of Leslie's production and a partnership between NextSelection and Bad Boy Records headed by Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Cassie's self-titled debut album was released in the same year. Despite recording a second album titled 'Electro Love', it has not yet been officially released.
