Dulces horas follows Juan (Inaki Aierra), a playwright haunted by his past. He has written a play titled 'Sweet Hours', based on key scenes of his early life involving his elderly father who left and his mother who committed suicide. The play is in rehearsal, and Juan attends the sessions, observing intently. He slips in and out of the actors' reconstructions and his own memories, searching for something unresolved. Throughout the process, Juan eventually uncovers repressed material and resolves his Oedipus Complex. Concurrently, he falls in love with Berta (Assumpta Serna), the young actress playing his mother's role.
