Story

In 'Wild Wild West' (1999), set in the late 19th century during the American frontier era, U.S. Marshal Artemus Gordon (Kevin Kline) is called upon by President Grant to investigate and stop a series of deadly sabotages on trains attributed to an old Confederate general named McGrath (Ken Norton). Gordon reluctantly enlists the help of his rival, former slave turned bounty hunter Jim West (Will Smith), with whom he has a tumultuous past. The duo uncovers that McGrath is actually a cyborg powered by advanced technology created by Dr. Arliss Loveless (Salma Hayek), a crippled Confederate scientist seeking revenge against the Union and aiming to blackmail the government for his territory. Gordon and West navigate various traps, confrontations with Loveless' robotic creations, and face-off against Loveless himself atop a giant spider-like walking machine in their mission to thwart his plans.
