Sônia Maria Campos Braga, born June 8, 1950 in Marília, Brazil, is a renowned Brazilian actress known for her award-winning performances. She gained international recognition with 'Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands' (1976) which earned her a BAFTA nomination. Her roles in 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' (1985) and 'Moon over Parador' (1988) were Golden Globe nominated, while she received an Emmy nomination for 'The Burning Season' (1994). Braga was ranked #24 in The New York Times' list of the 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century in 2020.

Story

Flor marries Vadinho in a small Brazilian city, but he proves to be irresponsible and squanders her money through gambling. After Vadinho's untimely death, Flor marries Teodoro, the owner of a drugstore, for financial stability. While Flor is content with her new husband, she misses the passion she shared with Vadinho.
