She gained prominence for her role as Katharine Clifton in 'The English Patient' (1996), and is known for films like 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', 'Mission: Impossible', 'Gosford Park', 'Darkest Hour', and 'Tomb Raider'. Scott Thomas has received numerous awards, including five BAFTA nominations, one BAFTA win for 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', one Olivier Award win, and an Academy Award nomination. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003, Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2015, and Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur by France in 2005.
