Roland Cordes (55), a powerful bank board member, meets Svenja Steve (33), wife of his employee Oliver, at an event and feels an immediate attraction to her. When a manager position opens in Indonesia, despite more qualified candidates, Roland influences the decision so that Oliver can be transferred there. An affair between Roland and Svenja begins, becoming intense as time passes. However, when Roland's manipulation is revealed, Svenja abruptly ends their relationship, causing him deep pain. Meanwhile, Oliver faces threats in Jakarta. Svenja asks him to return home.
