Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer, born March 3, 1970, is an American actress best known for her role as Claire Dunphy on Modern Family. She started her acting career in the soap opera Loving in 1992 and gained recognition playing Carol Vessey on Ed (2000-2004). Bowen has had various roles in films like Happy Gilmore (1996) and Kids in America (2005), and TV shows such as ER, Lost, and Weeds. She won two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Claire Dunphy from 2009 onwards.
