Short Cuts explores intersecting stories of various characters in Los Angeles, California, loosely connected by chance encounters and events. The narrative begins with waitress Doreen Piggot accidentally hitting a boy with her car. Meanwhile, a baker starts harassing the family when they fail to pick up the boy's birthday cake.
Directed by Robert Altman in 1993, Short Cuts is a comedy-drama that weaves together multiple storylines inspired by the works of Raymond Carver. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, California, the film examines themes of loss, cheating, and the interconnectedness of people in urban society.
