Displaying both athletic prowess (snowboarding, soccer) and artistic talents (ballet, tap dancing), Baker pursued an Associates degree before entering show business as a showgirl. Her modeling career led to work with Playboy, including appearances in 'Strip Search', 'Playboy's College Girls', and the 'College Girls' calendar. "Somaya Reese labored diligently to become a member of the Actors Guild. She portrayed a bar girl in 'American Psycho' (2000), but her career began gaining momentum when she launched her MySpace page. She became the most popular Latina on the site, amassing over 31 million views and nearly a million friends. This success was even more remarkable considering her humble beginnings in Los Angeles, where she grew up in a garage with an immigrant family that earned its living cleaning houses, with Somaya contributing as a maid.

Somaya sought to steer clear of the temptations posed by gangs, jail, and drug abuse. Instead, she dedicated herself to more constructive pursuits. Her recent ventures include a clothing line and a widely-read fitness blog titled 'A Realistic Approach To Fitness'. Although it lacks provocative images of Ms. Reese in workout attire, her clothing gained traction with the wrestling comedy 'Slammed' (2001).
