She later attended the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television. Her professional acting debut was in 1997, and she worked continuously until 2002. Lorsch appeared in various feature films and TV shows, including a seven-year stint as a reporter for Playboy.
