Kira Reed Lorsch, born in Santa Clara, California, began her career at age five with school plays and dance recitals. She later attended the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, Kentucky, and graduated from UCLA's School of Theatre, Film and Television. Her professional acting debut was in 1997, and she worked continuously until 2002. Lorsch appeared in various feature films and TV shows, including a seven-year stint as a reporter for Playboy. Post-Playboy, she hosted and produced for E! and Associated Television International. In 2014, she joined the cast of 'The Bay' as Jo Connors.

Private detective Barry Haven is hired by Jane Janzen to find her missing sister Jessica in Lost Lake, a remote small town. Unbeknownst to him, Jane is aware of Jessica's whereabouts and has set up this investigation as bait for an occult sect known as the Daughters of Darkness, led by Connie. The sect seeks to revive their former leader Damien every 33 years by capturing his son and using Barry as a lure. As Barry investigates with the help of Trix, he becomes sexually involved with different members of the sect nightly in preparation for the solstice ritual where Damien's seed will be propagated. Barry remains unaware of Jane's involvement until the night of the solstice when the truth is revealed.
