Synopsis
In upstate New York in the 1850s, Abigail begins a new year on her rural farm with her husband Dyer. She records her emotions and thoughts in her journal, revealing a complex inner life that contrasts with her stoic exterior. When spring arrives, she meets Tallie, an emotionally open woman who has recently moved to the neighboring farm with her husband Finney. The two women form a tentative bond, filling a void in their lives neither knew existed.
