Synopsis
In 'Witness', an eight-year-old Amish boy named Samuel witnesses a brutal murder in a Philadelphia train station restroom while traveling with his mother. Detective John Book is assigned to investigate but soon realizes he's also become a target. To protect himself and find the truth, Book goes undercover in the Amish community of Pennsylvania Dutch country where Samuel and his mother have returned. Despite his urban grit, Book slowly assimilates into their peaceful way of life, even forging a romantic bond with Rachel, Samuel's beautiful mother. Meanwhile, Book learns about the corruption that led to the murder and how it threatens him and the Amish community.

Résumé
'Witness' is a 1985 American drama thriller directed by Peter Weir. The film follows an Amish boy named Samuel who witnesses a crime while visiting Philadelphia with his mother. The investigation into this crime leads Detective John Book to uncover corruption within the police department, putting him in danger and forcing him to hide out among the peaceful Amish community in Pennsylvania Dutch country.
