Synopsis
In the desert of New Mexico, a small-town sheriff discovers a body alongside a suitcase containing $500,000. Seizing the opportunity to improve his dire financial situation, he impersonates the deceased man and keeps the money. However, his decision draws him into an FBI investigation, complicating matters further.

Résumé
Directed by Roger Donaldson in 1992, 'White Sands' is a neo-noir thriller set against the backdrop of the New Mexican desert. The story follows Sheriff Harlan DeGroff (played by Willem Dafoe) who stumbles upon a suitcase filled with cash and decides to masquerade as the deceased man to claim the fortune. This impulsive decision propels him into a complex web of deceit, corruption, and an FBI probe.
