Synopsis
In an isolated frontier outpost of an unnamed colonial empire, a magistrate is confronted with a crisis of conscience when an army colonel arrives seeking information about an impending uprising among the local inhabitants. The colonel uses cruel interrogation methods that horrify the magistrate.
