Synopsis
Caroline, a waitress with poor luck in love, meets Adam, an introverted busboy at her diner. One night, on her way home, she's attacked by thugs but Adam intervenes and saves her. They begin a relationship despite disapproval from some of their fellow Minnesotans. Caroline later discovers Adam has a baboon heart transplant that is deteriorating, leading him to believe his love for her is contained within it. After learning he might die if he doesn't accept a new heart, they have a passionate but brief romance before tragedy strikes.
