Synopsis
Karen, seeking excitement in life, leaves her job at a cannery to join a roller derby team as a skater. She faces immediate tension with Mickey, the reigning star, and other teammates who resent her ambition and skill. Despite their disapproval, Karen proves herself a formidable competitor, refusing to compromise her individuality for team spirit. Her success breeds jealousy among the squad and even draws the ire of the team owner.
