Synopsis
Owen Richardson, a young music journalist, travels to Florida to interview Sherry McGrale, a rising rock singer known for her powerful performances about being raped in college. Owen harbors dark memories related to this event as his older brother was involved in the assault and forced him to participate. As they confront each other and their troubled pasts, both are compelled to grapple with unresolved emotions and secrets. Sherry's annual appearance drunk on a neighbor's lawn suggests she hasn't moved on from her trauma. Owen hopes to find closure by writing about Sherry's story while also attempting to heal his own wounds caused by guilt and shame. Throughout their interactions, they both struggle with their current relationships as the scars of the past threaten to consume them. A judge, Sherry's manager, and a widow with young kids offer supporting roles in this journey towards possible healing.
