Synopsis
Sehnaz, a young female psychiatrist from Istanbul, starts her compulsory duty in a provincial town near the city. She maintains a seemingly perfect marriage with her husband Cem while feeling something amiss within it. During her week-long duty, she meets Elmas, a young woman who is brought to the hospital and has lost her mental balance. With Sehnaz's help, Elmas begins to open up. This new relationship between Sehnaz and Elmas brings about significant changes in both their lives.

Résumé
Tereddüt (2016) is Yesim Ustaoglu's fifth feature film, directed by one of Turkey's most prominent female directors. The movie follows the life of Sehnaz, a psychiatrist who navigates her professional and personal life in a provincial town near Istanbul. While her marriage appears perfect from the outside, Sehnaz feels a growing unease within it. Her encounter with Elmas at the hospital serves as a catalyst for change in both their lives. The film explores themes of mental health, female relationships, and the complexities of urban versus rural life.
