Synopsis
Sweet Sugar follows the journey of a young woman named Sugar, initially caught in a drug bust and given the choice between serving time in jail or working on a sugarcane plantation with other convicts. She chooses the latter, but soon realizes she has traded one form of punishment for another. The plantation is run by the notorious Dr. John, who subjects his workers to cruel medical experiments. Sugar must navigate this harsh environment while trying to maintain her dignity and hope for freedom.
