Synopsis
Reed, a seemingly ordinary businessman, leaves his wife and newborn daughter, checking into a hotel under the guise of a business trip. His true intention is to commit the perfect murder using an ice pick. He hires Jackie, an English-speaking prostitute from an escort service, as his intended victim. However, things don't go as planned when Jackie proves to be anything but ordinary and seems to anticipate Reed's intentions. A psychological game of cat and mouse ensues between the two.

Résumé
Piercing is a 2018 psychological thriller directed by Nicolas Pesce. Based on the novel of the same name by Ryū Murakami, the film explores the dark desires of a man named Reed who leads a double life. While appearing to be a typical yuppie husband and father, he harbors a disturbing secret. The story is centered around his attempt to act out his violent fantasy with Jackie, an escort service prostitute. However, as events unfold, it becomes unclear who is truly in control of the situation.
