Synopsis
In 1938, as Nazi persecution intensifies in Germany, the Rosa family decides to emigrate shortly before World War II begins. They leave their home in Hamburg for Kenya, where they establish a farm and start a new life. However, not all members of the family adapt easily to this change. Soon after their departure, Germany's political climate worsens, making return impossible. Each family member must therefore come to terms with their new existence on a distant continent.

Résumé
'Nirgendwo in Afrika' (Nowhere in Africa) is a 2001 German film directed by Caroline Link. Based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Stefanie Schimmer, the movie tells the story of a Jewish family who emigrate from Germany to Kenya shortly before World War II. The film explores themes of adaptation, resilience, and displacement amidst the backdrop of the tumultuous historical events unfolding in Europe.
