Synopsis
Aging Swiss Professor Raimund Gregorius (Jeremy Irons) leads a monotonous life until he encounters a Portuguese woman attempting suicide. He saves her and subsequently finds a mesmerizing book by a Portuguese author, which compels him to abandon his job and travel to Lisbon in search of the author. His journey becomes an enthralling detective adventure filled with political intrigue and high stakes as he pieces together fragments of history, medicine, and love to find meaning in life.
