Synopsis
In 'My Queen Karo', nine-year-old Karo lives happily with her parents in an Amsterdam commune during the Seventies. The squat they live in operates on communal principles, but as internal conflicts arise among the adults, Karo begins to notice that not everyone is adhering to these ideals. These tensions lead to changes within the group, and Karo realizes that nothing stays the same forever.

Résumé
Directed by Dorothée Van Den Berghe in 2009, 'My Queen Karo' is a Belgian-Dutch drama film set against the backdrop of Amsterdam's Seventies counterculture. The story revolves around young Karo and her experiences growing up in a squat commune where free love and communal living are the norms. However, as ideological differences emerge among the adults, they begin to impact Karo's innocent worldview.
