Mujeres Infieles follows three interconnected stories of women and infidelity in Chile. The film begins with Cecilia, a renowned television news anchor who learns that a survey reveals 62% of Chilean women have been or are currently unfaithful. Ironically, she is among this percentage as she maintains an affair with the channel owner, Carlos. During a live broadcast of a motel fire, Cecilia's rival colleague exposes their relationship, sparking national interest in the topic of infidelity.
Directed by Rodrigo Ortúzar Lynch and released in 2004, Mujeres Infieles is a Chilean drama-comedy that explores themes of relationships, fidelity, sexual satisfaction, loneliness, and abandonment through the stories of three women. The film uses Cecilia's story as a catalyst to delve into these issues, making it a subject of national conversation.
