May We Chat is a gritty teen drama set against the backdrop of Hong Kong's urban landscape. Directed by Cheuk Man Au and Philip Yung in 2014, the film explores the lives of three troubled young girls who find solace in their smartphones and web communication, but ultimately get entangled in drugs, prostitution, and dangerous criminal associations.
The movie serves as a cautionary tale about the potential dangers of unchecked internet usage and the temptations it can expose impressionable youth to. Despite its stark portrayal of juvenile delinquency, May We Chat also underscores the resilience and resourcefulness of young people when faced with adversity.
