Synopsis
In this modern retelling of 'Macbeth', set in Melbourne's ganglands, Macbeth is a loyal member of Duncan's criminal organization. After encountering witches who prophesy that he will eventually lead the gang, Macbeth becomes consumed by ambition and plots with his wife to kill Duncan. Once in power, Macbeth resorts to violence to maintain it, ultimately leading to his downfall as enemies unite against him.

Macbeth (2006) is a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy directed by Geoffrey Wright.
