Synopsis
The movie 'Landes' (2013) follows a young widow who inherits her husband's pine plantation business where resin is extracted. Her primary goal is to have electricity installed in her property, which she believes will benefit both her and her workers. However, the situation on the plantation is reminiscent of the Middle Ages, with workers not receiving salaries and having to deliver their production to their landlady. The young widow's progressive ideas face resistance from those around her - men still affected by WW1 and her bourgeois peers. Her foreman initially hesitates but eventually supports his boss due to her resilience and strength of character.
