Synopsis
In 1887, after her gold prospector father's death, Marie-Louise leaves the American West to pursue acting in New York with her mother. While performing on stage one night, she accidentally creates a graceful dance by swirling her dress, dubbing it the 'Serpentine Dance.' The audience loves it, and Marie-Louise transforms into Loïe Fuller. She moves to Paris, dazzling audiences at the Folies Bergères, gaining admirers like Toulouse Lautrec and the Lumière Brothers. Her encounter with Isadora Duncan disrupts her relationships with lover Louis and assistant Gabrielle, risking her artistic essence.
