Synopsis
Romanian police officer Cristi, who previously blew the whistle on mafia activities and is now under surveillance, travels to La Gomera Island to learn an ancient whistling language used by locals. His plan is to use this coded language to communicate with mobsters back home in Romania, aiming to secure Zsolt's release from prison. Zsolt is the only one who knows the whereabouts of 30 million euros hidden away.

Résumé
La Gomera (2019), directed by Corneliu Porumboiu and combining elements of comedy and drama, follows Cristi, a Romanian police officer turned whistleblower, as he seeks refuge on La Gomera Island. The film centers around Cristi's unusual attempt to use an ancient whistling language to communicate with mafia associates back home, aiming to free Zsolt from prison in exchange for information about 30 million euros in hidden funds.
