Synopsis
Set in the 1950s, 'Inventing the Abbotts' revolves around two brothers, Jacey and Doug Holt, from a working-class family who become captivated by the wealthy Abbott sisters. The siblings' father previously lost his life in a wager with Lloyd Abbott, the girls' aristocratic father and Jacey's business partner at the time. The brothers share only three common interests: table tennis, chasing the Abbott sisters, and their shared family history. Jacey, the lady-killer, pursues Eleanor and Alice Abbott without sincere intentions, aiming merely to break their hearts. Meanwhile, Doug genuinely falls in love with Pamela Abbott. Their differing approaches lead to tension between the brothers and disapproval from Lloyd Abbott and Jacey himself, who opposes Doug's relationship with Pamela.
